Gateway Market is located in the Golden Gate district on San Pablo Avenue near 59th Street. Their advertising mural is new and full of local references including the Oakland A's logo. I didn't find a signature but I'm sure it's hidden in the mural somewhere. Below is a close-up of the W to show you the detail and humor you can find in the mural.

ReplyDeleteI like the detail of the Gateway mural, but think it a little hard to read. I suspect it easier from 100m. I cannot find the detailed shot of the W. I shall return as my Monday night progresses.
This reminds me of some of those old postcards that spelled out the name of the city with landmarks inside the letters.

ReplyDelete«Louis» is happy he pointed this out to you. The Gateview Market is a recycled '40s-model Safeway. «Louis» will try to join in next week with some mural shots.
This was done by the artists at Session Space, an artist collective across the street form the market. Their idea was to reflect the postcard art of the past
