I don't know if this photo is my best of the year, but it is
the one that received the most comments. Taken in March and published in May, it is a night photo at Lake Merritt, considered the Jewel of Oakland. The white building is the Veteran's Memorial Building. The Necklace of Lights circles the lake. It was installed in the 1920s and was restored in the 1980s.

ReplyDeleteSuperb choice for Theme Day, Carolyn!
ReplyDeleteThis is an image that JUST WORKS! «Louis» thinks it is one that probably works better in b&w than it would in color.
Happy blogging to you, neighbor, this New Year!
Strange linear reflections there. This photo works well in B/w.

ReplyDeleteP.S. your link for 'Theme Day' is not working.
It's a good one. Remember the scene - though not the white building - from our days in Oakland back in the '60's.

ReplyDeleteAwesome night shot!
ReplyDeleteIt's easy to see why that would be your photo of the year. That is outstanding--just a brilliant shot. This is the kind of stuff we go for all the time, right? Fantastic. Great work
