This mural is found on International Blvd around the corner from Solano Way. As you no doubt have noted, many murals in Oakland have political themes. Some might say that all street art is political. What do you think?
Welcome to Monday Mural: if you like murals or have a mural you'd like
to post, this meme's for you. Just follow the Linky steps below. You

Thanks. I'll be gone for a few weeks and won't be able to leave

I like political street art, but not all is political here. Tom The Backroads Traveller
ReplyDeleteBeautiful theme, beautiful mural. Joan Baez would be proud :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting this meme.
Have a Beautiful Day!
Peace :)
Back at last after my break. Missed posting on Monday Mural glad you rstill here.
ReplyDeleteYou do not have to agree with everything but you have to agree with freedom of speech, thoughts and also including messages in paint I think.
ReplyDeleteNot always political - it can be funny, whimsical or just beautiful. But politics/sharing beliefs is certainly what seems to motivate many street artists
ReplyDeleteI don't think murals are always politcal, but many of them have a message indeed as this one has too,
ReplyDeleteI found a mural in Greensboro, so GDP finally gets to participate. Have a great day.

I love her big eyes!
ReplyDeleteI love political street art ODP, there are a few around Perth that I still have to find :) I like this one very much, sadly I think the words women and struggle still have a long way to go together..
ReplyDeleteInteresting art! I think most of the murals here are not directly political. The one I posted today is more religion-oriented and quite a few here are celebrating the beauty of the Shenandoah Valley. Some are advertising.
ReplyDeleteThis one stands out. I think in a city filled with politics like we have here, the street art tends to go in different directions.
