In West Oakland (on Poplar St., I think) is a huge metal recycling yard. This year they had artists (Bode, Eya, Marley and Toad) paint murals on their block long security wall that faces the street. Only when you walk to the other side of the street can you see the heavy equipment that moves the metal around.
I just love your mural Mondays. Fun to see all the different work and subjects. I hope you had a merry and bright Christmas. I have enjoyed getting to know a little about you and a lot about Oakland this year.
ReplyDeleteCool! Definitely not the Little Mermaid.
ReplyDeleteThat is a good idea. She's kind of cute . . .
ReplyDeleteI am always impressed with murals. I am also surprised no graffiti has scarred this beautiful piece yet. Is their an unwritten code among the graffitists to leave murals untouched?
ReplyDeleteBut I doubt there are many blue-skinned, green-eyed mermaids in the bay. Well, on the other hand, San Francisco is on the other side so maybe there are.
ReplyDeletea pleassant means of limiting more graffiti

Sure beats a blank, concrete wall.
ReplyDeleteBelle sirène.
ReplyDeleteHi Carolyn, your mermaid is more seductive than my mermaid mural. Nice one!
