This vintage train car was part of a traveling art installation/happening traveling from New York to Oakland. I tried to take pictures of the other cars but got shooed away. Because I left my hard hat and steel toed shoes at home, I wasn't allowed into the area. Pity. I was hoping to see an interior. As for the art happening itself, it was sold out. Snake eyes.

This is a real classic. I remember these coaches from when I was a kid. The toilets used to flush onto the railway ties below. There were signs not to flush them when they were stopped in the stations.

ReplyDeleteMe gustan esos, estos, los de aquí: Compañía Internacional de Coches Cama (Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits fundada en 1876), normalmente de color azul con los que viajábamos de noche en los expresos por toda la Península Ibérica, o mejor Celtibérica... :))´
