It ain't pretty, but it's the real deal. This is what it looks like driving across the Bay Bridge going east to Oakland. For now. Once the new bridge is completed, the eastern side will be a single decker. I thought black and white would intensify the industrial feel of this engineering marvel. Yup, that's it! As you wrote, it ain't purty...
ReplyDelete«Louis» also posted the Bay Bridge today.
;-D
but it is a great perspective, from the centre lane on into infinity....
ReplyDeleteI agree with Lesley, that really is a nice perspective!
ReplyDeletei like the composition and perspective of your photo. great b & w.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteI like the designs, might get distracted if I was driving,
ReplyDeleteYour bridge photo works superbly as a sepia, what with those lines and shapes, the reflection in the hood of your car and your perspective. A great way to may something "not so purty" look mighty fine.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the shot... interesting take of the bridge.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting shot!I like a lot the motion and the choice b&w, huge bridge!

I have driven this bridge in a rental car while visiting...let's just say....it was quite the experience and it is a TOLL bridge as well.....nice shot.
ReplyDeleteCivil engineering is indeed amazing - just thinking of the calculations freezes my brain, let alone the actual construction. This is a very pleasing perspective.
ReplyDeleteI'm almost getting the feeling of being there. Wonderful, thanks!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great photo, so real and interesting!
ReplyDeleteGreetings:)
A double-deck bridge? So would that be a railway on the upper deck?
ReplyDeleteI like the lines, especially the diagonals as they disappear into the horizon.
ReplyDeleteIt sure isn't what I would have expected! Is it noisy to drive under cars going the other way?
ReplyDeleteVery nice composition!
ReplyDeletesuperb shot!
