Sunday Bridge Series: Glen Echo Creek resurfaces
Here's another pedestrian bridge over Glen Echo Creek on Richmond St. This one has a pergola covered entrance that looks pretty old. Several redwoods dot the woodland. The creek stays above ground for about .3 of a mile in a small valley that opens to a vale before it goes under ground again. Then out of no where are the support piers for the 580 freeway and we're back in urban civilization. Taken a few days ago before the current rain storms. It's amazing to see something like this place amid the city streets. This is a great photo and a wonderful description.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful setting and very hard to imagine the change from bucolic woodland to concrete jungle in such short order. Excellent photo.
ReplyDeleteDarryl and Ruth : )
Great nature scenery! Have a beautiful day.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure as time passes the view will be obstructed from more branches growing in. I like exploring these little creeks because many have hidden jewels like the one in your photo.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely place for that bridge!
