Monday mural: el condor pasa
This mural is tucked away behind a building on E. 12th St. in an industrial, commercial strip approaching downtown. I couldn't find a signature but the Andean setting reminded me of Paul Simon's song El Condor Pasa.

I can almost hear it! Simon and Garfunkel have always been my favourites, since before "The Graduate" (yes, I'm that old).
ReplyDeleteVery fitting.
I love that song! I agree, it goes with this artwork.
ReplyDeleteOh the sights of Oakland that you share with your followers. Very nice posting this past week. I am interested in seeing more, so keep them coming. Photos are FAB.
ReplyDeleteGee, it wouldn't remind me of El Condor Pasa because I don't remember that song. I need to go check it out . . .
ReplyDeleteAnd as soon as I saw it I thought of the ubiquitous Peruvian street musicians. Whether in San Francisco, New York, Buenos Aires or London you can't tell them apart. I wonder if they come from central casting.
ReplyDeleteYes, a perfect title for this cool mural!
