Captured on a fabric wall surrounding Peralta Junction, a temporary art installation and community event in West Oakland. Community developers and local artists have created a magical area on a previously empty lot where games, movies, and special events will occur until mid-December. I recognize the artist's style but can't tell you his name. Addendum: I think this is by Cannon Dill.

I have not seen a fabric mural, in public display. I like the artist interpretation of the bird, eyes and feathers rolled into one centerpiece.
ReplyDeleteLovely fabric mural, certainly brightens up the area. Really interesting art.
ReplyDeleteReal artwork.
ReplyDeleteThat's fantastic. Wait, why am I sad all of a sudden? ;-)
ReplyDeleteI really like this rendering of the bird!
ReplyDeleteSo this is a portable mural. That's a cool concept. At least no one can paint over it like the fate of some murals fixed on walls.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is colourful! Haven't heard of or seen a portable fabric mural. Sounds like a good idea to me. Incidentally, I love your header; very seasonal.
ReplyDeleteThat's some depression. Poor birdie, he needs some cheering up!
ReplyDeleteThat looks a serious case of avian flu! :-)
