I suspect Sears is closing stores all over the country. They actually moved out of the Sears building years ago and it was then converted into condos. Then Mayor Jerry Brown lived on the top floor. Sears then moved into the defunct Capwell's building in the downtown area where they've been for several years. I can only imagine that the new economic reality and the value of the real estate have lead to this decision. Who doesn't remember browsing through the Sears catalogue and wishing for some of the treasures within.
Somtime you really wonder if the stores are closing when you see these signs of just a con to get you to visit

ReplyDeleteI think most of them have closed here too! The big warehouse downtown was converted to condos many years ago and I have visited one unit several times - gorgeous space with high ceilings and huge windows.
