the Ides of April approach

Here is an example of a sign spinner, a common sight in the Bay Area.  They stand on corners usually advertising a sale.  To relieve their boredom they spin the signs in all kinds of acrobatic and clever ways.  This fellow reminds us that our tax returns are due April 15.  Yikes, that's day after tomorrow!
I'll be away for a few days and will resume posting next week.

  1. YIKES! is right! La famille la Vache has already filed, but what they are worried about is the tax increases that the current Congress has planned. They're getting ready to foist a VAT on us for starters.

  2. April 15 is my own personal "Tax Freedom Day" (last day I prepare returns) and ohboy I'm looking forward to it. The Liberty Tax guy will probably be happy to hang up the hat - but then, he'll be out of work!

    Nice shot.

  3. I hope to see a video of him next time. I'd never heard of these unusual jugglers!

  4. Wish they's spin their signs here. Most manage to look incredibly bored.

  5. Possibly doing marketing for the Tea Party?

Thanks so much for meeting us last weekend, and particularly for the anniversary gift. We enjoyed it last night for the occasion itself. Back home now and trying to get caught up.

  6. Got mine in on the 15th...good to have these guys as portents of the Ides of April - great title. (Besides "Beware of the Ides of March" itself...one of my favorite books is The Ides of March by Thorton Wilder...due for a re-read.)
