I use to always enjoy walking cemeteries. They are always peaceful and quiet. Now as I have grown older I don't go anymore. I start looking at the dates, do the math and the results are scary so I quit going.
What a great reflection shot, Carolyn! Your light and composition is perfect. [When standing on those escalators in my post, it's not that disorienting... I only noticed this walking past it because the sides are reflective metal.]
Fascinating, I hadn't ever seen a place like this in the US before. Back in October when James (yes, James of Weekend Reflections) was in Paris we went walking in Père Lachaise Cemetery, and spent quite a little while in the large Columbarium there, looking closely at many of the plaques and their various decorations.
I like cimetery like a park. Here, the columbarium are outside.
Sometimes I have a dream "un mur de recueillement" face à la mer, I wrote this some hears ago (Imagine a columbarium here) : http://sarah-perso.hautetfort.com/archive/2006/10/28/petit-bonheur-140.html
This is a dignified image. Peaceful is right. Nice.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot... Relaxing reflection.

ReplyDeleteWonderful and creative reflections of trees in the glass.
ReplyDeleteThe reflections are nice to see and then I saw what it was. Oh my.
ReplyDeleteThe colors reflecting through the glass, very spring like.
ReplyDeleteI like the opposition between the life in the garden and the death in the columbarium... Nice work on the symbolic, here...
ReplyDeleteJoli reflet des arbres, du jardin. Sérénité en ce lieu de recueillement.
ReplyDeleteYes it does. Nice one.
ReplyDeleteA very nice photo! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteFeels peaceful to me too. :)
