In 1977, I was at Oakland, I didn't know those garages were garages. Until I came to Auckland, and we have similar ones. I had one, but it was never painted like this.
I tried to see something different but came away thinking the same as you did. Curious as to if the owner is the artist or the owner commissioned an artist for the piece. Either way I admire those who can paint on such a grand scale incorporating many stories in one piece. Nice find.
It's not unlike the kind of picture you get on JW publications, depicting a new harmonious world to come. The lion and the lamb together would point in this direction, as well as the bleak view of the present world we inhabit.
Yes, I think the owner should post a plaque with an interpretation for those of us who are imagination challenged. Oakland seems to have lots of murals and lots of tile work.
