ABC Wednesday: G is for Get Up

Get Up is a graffiti artist whose work has popped up in public spaces over the past year.  This piece is among several that are on support pillars of the BART tracks in North Oakland.  While it is apparent that his works are stenciled, what I discovered while photographing them, is that they are printed on paper and posted with glue.  Over time they will deteriorate and disappear.  I find them to be decorative and humorous.  For more G photos, visit ABC Wednesday.

  1. I love them and a great post for the G Day! I really like the fact that they're not only colorful and fun, but they're on paper and not permanent and therefore isn't harmful or destructive! Terrific! Hope your week is going well!!

  4. Some graffiti is beautiful and more like frescoes or murals.

  5. Now that's the better type of graffiti. Its not permanent. Good for that artist.
