You KNEW «Louis» would like this! Pierce made luxury cars, but never attained the volume or status of Packard, and fell onto very hard times in the Depression. Studebaker bought Pierce and the weight of Pierce nearly pulled Studebaker under. Studebaker was forced to cast Pierce off and let them sink on their own. It is a pity because Pierce built some really magnificent cars.
Dramatic, aggressive and, by today's standards, a little dangerous. When was it they made hood ornaments flat or at least bendable so that the unfortunate pedestrian didn't get impaled on them?
I would not want to be hit by that car!
ReplyDeleteThat is a super photo. Well done.
ReplyDeletenice choise for all memes. :) First I wondered what hood was. But then realised it is a small piece on the hood of a car. :)
ReplyDeleteDelicious reflection, a beautiful image, like a poem.

ReplyDeleteMust be wonderful to find one of those in a junkyard, or on a wreck left to rust in the desert somewhere...
ReplyDeleteAs much attention spent on the hood ornament design as on the car (sigh)
ReplyDeleteWow.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful! I love the shot and the design of the hood ornament!
