Several boats were in dry dock at the Embarcadero marina. Although this sailor berths his boat in SF, he brought it to Oakland because of the specialists for his boat's motor. Boats are a lot of work, and after 27 years of sailing, this guy confessed that he was seriously considering selling his boat.
Two best days in a boat owners life... days he buys and day he sells. I still would like to take a chance to prove this adage wrong.
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I saw the photo I had my comment in mind. Then I saw you write the very same thing... "a lot of work".

27 years hassling the maintenance of a boat? Man, I would have it up for sale long before then.
ReplyDeleteYou have wonderful bodies of water to sail in (after all, it is the Bay area) but wouldn't that get dull after a while? And, of course, the money pit factor. I'll blow my dollars on photo stuff.
ReplyDeleteThe expense would have me selling long before the maintenance work could have taken its tole.
ReplyDeleteA sailor's work is never done!
