The first of every month has a theme that the City Daily Photo community can participate in. This month's is "numbers." Spotted this bus sign on Joaquin Miller Rd in the Oakland Hills. They seem to be running out of space because of changes and additions. I have no idea where any of these buses go. For other participants in this month's Theme Day go the the temporary
CDPB Theme Day website hosted by Sydney Eye.
The positive thing is that Oakland has such extensive public transportation.
ReplyDeleteAt first I groaned when I saw the theme topic for August, but, as usual, I'm surprised at how many different places have lots of numbers to see!
ReplyDeleteThose numbers
ReplyDeletedo a number

Now that is a LOT of buses!
ReplyDeleteGeez I hope no one has to take the line that ends in "2"
ReplyDeleteAgree, they need a bigger sign. Great post for the theme day.
ReplyDeleteGood Grief! At first I thought they were gas prices. hahaha
ReplyDeletelol, i'm with birdman!
ReplyDeleteA bus sign? I would never say it, but then I saw the bus on top. :-)
ReplyDeleteThis certainly a special find ! What an adventure even to look at and think of.
ReplyDeletePlease have a good new month.
daily athens photo
that are quite some numbers! is it the same as here in boston? just the numbers, no schedule, or where they are going? its the most useless thing ever and so i never go by bus!
ReplyDeleteExcellent theme day shot.
ReplyDeleteIf I know our Oakland, most of them aren't running anymore!
ReplyDeleteHow many numbers ;-)
ReplyDeleteI like this photo, great choice for this theme.
I think I'll stick to the 339 or the 53 special wherever they go, at least they're clear choices haha!
ReplyDeleteThe 600 series bus routes go to and from Oakland schools.
ReplyDeleteBeyond that, «Louis» can't tell you where the 39, 339 or the 53 Special goes - thought it would seem from the sign the 53 Special goes rarely if at all!
AC Transit was once the best-operated public bus system in the U.S., but as with so many other things in the Bay Area in particular and California in general, they've allowed the unions to strangle them.... (sigh)
