A 1960s-70s vintage motel on West MacArthur Blvd when MacArthur was the primary thoroughfare in Oakland pre-urban renewal. The hotel is being well maintained even as it has transitioned to a residential motel. Love the sign, love the font on the wall, love those decorative oval thingies on the corner of the building. Also love the blue skies we're enjoying and the comfortable Oakland temperatures. If you go east through the Caldecott Tunnel, you'll find temps in the 90s. And how is it in your area? Linking to

This motel looks like its been in a movie. So familiar looking. Nice find.
ReplyDeleteYes, starting to look pretty vintage, and love those oval thingies too... very 60s/early 70s. We have a lot of these up and down Beach Blvd. in various states of repair. I've often thought I would like to go photograph some!
ReplyDeleteThe sky is so blue! Happy sky watching.

Perfectly vintage and delightfully blue! There is a neon sign from the 50s or 60s a couple of miles from my house. It's the Bama Motel and has the shape of a woman diving... must take a photo.
