Another cool neon sign. I like the sputnik globe on top. Too bad the cocktail glass doesn't light up. Like the sign says, this is in the Laurel District in East Oakland. Funk grooves and laughter were coming out of the bar.
So cool! We do not have these things in my little town:-) Ps: Because of two explosions on the sun a few days ago, we could see the northern lights here in southern Norway .. it is not common in the south .. I've never seen it before, so I was lucky :-) Have a nice dag!
Very vintage looking. Those old watering holes always seem to have the best neon signs for photographing! Well done - especially with the soft red glow surrounding the sign. Thanks for stopping by...I'm heading back to reality in a week!
Hi:-) My pics of aurora borealis was taken with Canon 400D. I tried many different settings.. Pics nr 2: Br 18mm/3.5f/20 sek/ISO 400. I used the self timer and tripod.
Wow, when was the last time I heard a funk groove? Maybe never.
You have been showing us a lot of interesting not new but not contemporary American architecture and design in Oakland. Certainly worth my attention the next time I'm in the Bay Area.

Oh yeah classic 60's rat pack martini vibe here. At least in its heyday I presume. Great photo.
