This old quarry borders the parking lot of a busy shopping center. Until recently the view was obstructed by tall bushes fronting the surrounding chain link fence. Recent construction now allows an unobstructed street level view (albeit still through the fence and barbed wire). I read that
"traprock" was quarried here a long while ago and don't know when operation ceased. A creek runs through the Claremont Country Club and tumbles by waterfall into the lake. A member told me that the club (posted Tuesday) owns the quarry and pumps the lake to water the golf course. I was pleased that the sun came out long enough to allow a late afternoon reflection to share through James' meme
Weekend Reflections. Have a relaxing weekend.
Nice capture of that, Carolyn. As is often the case with the photos you post, «Louis» knows just where this is. You always manage to get a unique view of these locations though, and it's as if «Louis» had never seen it before. This image is a case in point. He never got this good a view of that water.
ReplyDeleteThe blues are amazing! Wonderful image.
ReplyDeleteNice blues captured here.
ReplyDeleteIt´s good that they took away all the bushes, it's really beautiful there!
ReplyDeleteIncredible colours!
ReplyDeleteThat is truly beautiful. It almost looks like a painting.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful composition - not everyone can arrange elements in a viewfinder that well (me for instance!)
ReplyDeleteI love the blue and green ! Very nice !
ReplyDeleteIt's such a pretty view that I wonder why the view has been hidden!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely spot to have near a shopping center.
ReplyDeleteGreat image! I like this a lot.
ReplyDeleteIs there a reason you didn't reveal the location? I am pretty sure I know where this is but am afraid to ask because it seems you want to keep it a secret.
