Monday Mural: Water Writes

This mural is located at Franklin and 21st street in the Uptown area of Oakland.  This space was donated by the building's owner.  It is freshly completed and not yet signed by the artists Estria, Ceci, and Josue.  I was lucky enough to meet the artists and discuss this intricate mural with Estria, who was previously featured hereWater Writes is one of 10 murals planned around the world based on the theme of water as an endangered resource.   One mural has already been completed in LA, and others are currently planned for Hawaii, El Salvador, Palestine, and Washington state.  Tomorrow, meet the artists.

  1. That is just amazing. I have to hand it to artists who can create on such a large scale so wonderfully. They seem to be providing you with an endless source of material too.

  3. Thanks for posting this. I saw it much earlier in the progress, and wondered what the scoop was on it. It's a very cool looking mural.

  4. What a wonderful idea and this execution is suberb. I do not think I would want it in my living room, but that is not its purpose. Great artists supporting an endangered resource in a visually captivating way -- great!
