Steele's on Telegraph Avenue sells all manner of diving equipment and has rave reviews on Yelp. Even though the shop's name is in giant, red plastic letters, their funky old sign is what I notice most. The peeling paint shows that over the years the sign has been used by more than one business. The
pentimento reveals that at one time you could get custom made golf clubs. For more sky photos visit
Skywatch Friday.
Probably the fact the sign is in so bad shape is what attracts attention to it. It would probably be worth 100's of dollars and that American Pickers program.
ReplyDeletevery cool skywatch!
ReplyDeletehee hee... «Louis» knows zackly where this is! A paint brush hasn't touched that place in years, but they just keep going. That diver cracks «Louis» up...
ReplyDeleteIf this were the only sign they had you'd never know what the business is.
ReplyDeletenice shot,a diver with a speargun,
ReplyDeleteprobably all the fishes are gone now.
I"m pretty sure I like this better than some flashy new sign. Great eye!
