ABC Wednesday: P is for paste-up

Paste-ups are ephemeral art on paper mounted with wheat paste.  They are intended to be impermanent, with weather taking its toll over time.  One of the favorite places to hang these pieces is the BART support pillars in North Oakland.   All the paste-ups I photographed in February are now gone.  That includes this piece by Get Up.  For more takes on the letter "P" visit ABC Wednesday.

  3. There's a different feel to this street art when it erodes over time. I like that concept.

  7. What an interesting concept - it's much less demanding of attention than graffiti.

  8. «Louis» has noticed these on the BART pillars in North Oakland, He often travels this route back to Albany, avoiding the freeway, when returning from purchasing supplies near jack London Square.

  9. I like this, not everything in life has to be permanent! I'd be popping back now and then to see 'what's up'!!

  15. How interesting, and to see how it changes from day to day and eventually is lost, but not to the digital world.

  16. I didn't realize these had a name. At any one time you can see a bunch of them in Toronto, barring interference from our anti-grafitti mayor. My ABC Wednesday this week is Pink!

  17. As impermanent as our city's baseball victory but maybe equally artistic.
