Artists Mike and John Manente have created a new mural on the back wall
of the Haley Law Offices. This is the fourth mural in their series "The
People of Oakland." "The Firefighter" is a portrait of a friend of the Haley lawyers who recently retired after a long career in the
Oakland Fire Department.

The mural has quite an iconic, classic sense to it.

I like this idea of recognising local people
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice tribute to the fireworker, hope he likes it to be portraited so publicly.
ReplyDeleteThats a great portrait in both senses of the word.
ReplyDeleteFirefighters deserve every tribute possible!
ReplyDeleteGreat portrait and a wonderful tribute to some special people who risk their lives to save others.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting.
Not sure I would want a big picture of me on the side of a building even if it looked as nice as this.
ReplyDeleteSuch a good strong image ODP. We have so many bushfires here I have the utmost respect for firemen.
ReplyDeleteThis is stunning!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a Hollywood movie poster. I bet the real firefighter is a little less romantic.
ReplyDeleteI like the realistic look. No cartoony stuff here.
ReplyDeleteEye catching mural.
ReplyDeleteThis is terrific. Good art. Good cause.
