ABC Wednesday: R is for red roadster

Auto Row on Broadway used to be packed with car dealerships.  Most have now moved closer to the freeway or to towns east of here.  This Corvette has pride of place in one of the few showrooms left on Broadway.  Even through the plate glass window I could hear it go rrroom, rrroom.  Note the red trim on the white walls.  So cool.  For more takes on "R", visit ABC Wednesday.

  1. You know, I don't really care much about cars, but these old vintage ones really ARE, as you say, so cool!

  5. I like the candy apple red polish on the car but would hesitate taking it out on the road for fear it might get a scratch or dent. :)

  7. Great, Carolyn! «Louis» can't see enough of the Corvette to tell you the exact year, but his guess is '57-'59.
    VROOM!

  8. Given the choice of that Corvette or one of those made years later on to the current, no contest. I'll take the 50 year old one in a pair of seconds.

  9. Reminds me of those old films where there was a race between two cars, usually fatal to one of them. Glad to see this one has survived.

  11. I'm like Francisca. Cars don't do much for me, but THIS one? Oh, yes, I can see myself behind the wheel. After I win the lottery.
