what is this?

Structures seen at Peralta Junction near sunset.  Don't know if they have a mechanical function but I saw them as sculptures.

    First thing that came to mind was that it looks like a scene from 'War of the Worlds'..well done on getting the moon there amongst them.

    Gregory wins the prize. Peralta Junction had a life-sized mousetrap set up, and ran it a couple times a day when they were open.
