purple house

This is the nicest purple paint job I've seen and I'm not a fan of purple, especially not on a house.  All that lush foliage tones it down a bit.  Makes me think of Easter eggs.  Found just of Telegraph Avenue.

  1. I just told another blogging friend, when I was young, purple was my fav color. This is a nice soft color.

  2. I agree with ODP. Why in heavens name will you paint your house purple but somebody will do it because it can.

  3. Surprising colour but it does look nice with all the green and the window details.

  4. So cool! This colour reminds me of houses I've seen in Belize.

  6. It could be in Miami if the foliage were different. Won't find anything like that here in the Midwest.

Thanks for your comments on my Costa Rica photos this week. I had to pay for the time off with a very long work week and few comments written.

  7. I like it, especially the three shades of. At our other home we were bold enough to have a purple door but that is as far as we went with the color purple, at least on the house.

  11. It's a beautiful house to start with, the French doors are divine. I think you hit the nail on the head ODP, the green of the foliage around shows this soft mauve off to perfection. Mmmmmmm! Easter eggs, can't wait haha!

  14. Not sure I'd want that color on my house, but it's a quirky and fun house. I like the stained class trim in the window ... I can make out the word main or imain; I wonder what it means.
