Oakland has a multitude of Victorian houses that survived the 1906 earthquake. This lovely Queen Ann with fish scale shingles is on Ivy Hill. You saw another shot of Ivy Hill last week. Not only is the weather fair, and the skies clear, we've also been having a heat wave accompanied by warm easterly winds. Not a good combination in fire season. It's supposed to cool down tonight with a return to our typical, cool westerly winds. Fingers crossed. Linked to
Skywatch Friday.
Castle House !
ReplyDeleteLovely homes and stands well being over a century old. Looking forward to the cooler weather too.
ReplyDeleteCiao, here is Massimo, I'd like to see something about Oakland, so, I will follow you if you don't mind, ciao from Italy.
ReplyDeleteNice place. People don't always think of Oakland having nice places, do they?
ReplyDeleteI live up here in Sonoma County and can't wait for the cooler weather.
Great looking house. It is a pity that this kind of architecture style doesn't consist in the netherlands.
ReplyDeleteI loved having a similar turret in my apartment in Phila:-)
ReplyDeleteOakland is such a great town
What a lovely house. Happy sky watching.
ReplyDeleteMy sky.
Gorgeous, hoping the cool air comes back, worried about you guys and fires.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous little Victorian house. Love it.
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful place. I am glad no one has painted a mural all over it!!!
ReplyDeleteIt is a little like a castle, bet it's gorgeous inside also. I hear you about the weather ODP, we get those hot easterlies also, sooo uncomfortable AND dangerous in fire season.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous house, would like to live here.
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday!
Always enjoy a home with a turret-effect.
ReplyDeleteThis is a real beauty! Hope the wind has turned.
ReplyDeleteLovely old home. I bet it's wonderful inside.

Fires already, my goodness.
ReplyDeleteA room in a turret must be such a treat.
