Skywatch Friday: Tuiaki he Lotu

The Free Church of Tonga is located on Fruitvale Avenue.  Most of the Tongans I know are Mormons.  This free church is an off-shoot from the Methodist church.  This church looks like a quiet oasis on a busy street.   This shot shows you more blue skies after the fog burns off.  The weatherman says we're in for a warming trend and no fog at night.  Yippee. For more of today's sky views, visit Skywatch Friday.

  4. So, Oakland has a big enough population of Tongans for their own church? I wouldn't have guessed it. Too bad there weren't any Tongans around when you were shooting. The small Tongans are massive and the big Tongans are unbelievable.

  5. This is a lovely photo. What kind of trees are those? They have a very cartoon'ish look to them which is awesome.

  8. Love the way this greenery ends in signage. From calm and tranquil, almost like a monastery..... to all the trappings of consumerism. And "G" for Greyhound was GREAT!

  9. This is a neat building. The trees look more like artwork than landscape; like they were crafted to fit in the small space and up the wall. Great capture.

  10. No fog for the Holiday weekend, that will be nice. Yesterday we took our grandson to the beach here in Southern California; overcast and cold with a dangerous surf and a lot of disappointed beach goers.
