F is for Financial Center Building

The Financial Center building is downtown at 14th St. and Franklin.  It was built in 1929 and is considered to be an example of Art Deco.  It was previously featured here.  Here's a closer look:

  1. There's a big difference between the The Financial Center Building and the all glass newer building beside it. I prefer the older building... it has more class.

  5. Nothing quite like an old financial building. Beautiful detail. By the way, you were right -- it was Madame Butterfly. My brain went on vacation whilst typing. Thanks for letting me know.

  6. The glass monolith next to it looks so out of place. Surprised it didn't take over the entire corner replacing the financial building.

  8. Nice angle and I really like the look of the old buildings. They have such character.

  9. Sad part is that if you try to look out of the west-facing windows of that building, you are stuck looking at the glass walls about an arms length away.

  10. It is a Fine Foto of a Fine Financial building. I often see older buildings with modern glass buildings adjoining them, and it can be successful. As it was here.

  11. There's something very reassuring about this building ODP, it looks so solid and permanent, i think if my money was being invested here I might sleep easy!
