Nothing to watch in this Skywatch. It was gray overcast all day. Yuck. And wouldn't you know it, the skies cleared at dusk and the stars are now shining. This is a photo of the Fruitvale Bridge to Alameda. Alameda is a small island community bordered by the waters of the estuary and the Bay. There are four (draw) bridges and one underwater tunnel to Alameda from Oakland. It's quite amusing to see a bridge draw up and stop traffic for a little putt-putting boat with a tall mast. We have sun, but it is unlikely to last. I hope to be around one day when the Whitby drawbridge opens. It's a less impressive structure than this one, but it can be pretty.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen a bridge like it - a natural photo subject.
ReplyDeleteBetter than here.. we have snowstrom today..
ReplyDeleteI like the bridge.
Wish you a nice day!:-)
Good skywatch post.

Carolyn - re your question about the seals at Pier 39 - no they haven't come back. «Louis» read somewhere that they seem to have moved north to Oregon.
ReplyDeleteHere's a photo of a boat going under the High Street Bridge to Alameda.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that always the way - most Fridays it seems like the skies are plotting against us Friday skywatchers!
ReplyDeleteI like this view of the bridge works.
